Official: Lazio affirm Sarri’s resignation and announce successor



Lazio affirm Maurizio Sarri has resigned and his assistant Giovanni Martusciello will stay in cost as his successor.

Sarri resigned as Lazio coach on Tuesday after struggling three consecutive defeats. He was not on good phrases with President Claudio Lotito and a part of the dressing room, so he determined to go away regardless of having a 12 months left in his contract.

Lazio confirmed Sarri’s resignation on Wednesday morning, saying that his assistant Martusciello would stay as an interim coach.

The Bianconcelesti haven’t clarified whether or not the ex-Empoli tactician will stay in cost till the tip of the season.

A number of coaches, from Igor Tudor to Raffaele Palladino and ex-Lazio striker Miroslav Klose, have been linked with the job.

Klose and Tudor are presently with no membership, whereas Palladino is underneath contract with Serie A aspect Monza.

Lazio thanked Sarri for the ‘objectives he achieved and for the work accomplished’ and wished him one of the best on and off the pitch.

The ex-Napoli, Juventus, and Chelsea boss was appointed in 2021 and gained 65 of 137 video games on the Stadio Olimpico.
