Sega reportedly threatened unionising employees with layoffs


Workers unionising at Sonic maker Sega say that they’ve been threatened with layoffs.

That is based on Kotaku, which experiences that the publishing big advised the newly-formed AEGIS-CWA bargaining unit that it was planning on ‘phasing out’ non permanent staff in February 2024. A lot of this workforce is in QA and localisation.

These cuts would reduce AEGIS’ by 40 per cent, or round 80 staff. Because of this, the union has filed an unfair labour apply through its guardian, the Communication Staff of America.
