Most of our membership carry distances are acquired in temperatures near 75º F (24º C)
For each 10º beneath 75º every membership in your bag will CARRY (roughly) 2 yds shorter
For each 10º above 75º every membership in your bag will CARRY (roughly) 2 yds longer
It is a rule of thumb that will help you make higher knowledgeable membership choice decisions
Please understand that this doesn’t consider wind, altitude or the human issue of much less/extra velocity era in colder/hotter temperatures. That is strictly how the carry distance is affected in differing temperatures.
The first cause for the variations we see is that temperature can have an effect on the air density, which, in flip, impacts the golf ball’s flight. Because the temperature will increase, the air turns into much less dense, leading to a lower in air resistance. This discount in air resistance permits the golf ball to journey farther via the air. Conversely, because the temperature decreases, the air turns into denser, growing the air resistance and decreasing the gap that the golf ball will journey.
